Here’s Why Your Dryer Vent Needs to be Cleaned

House maintenance includes cleaning your dryer vent. Your dryer vent is responsible for moving hot, humid, air that dries your clothes outside your house. It is reported that each household in the United States has 600 loads of laundry each year. This is a lot of clothes that we are washing and drying, and this is why it is important to maintain your dryer vent and have dryer vent cleaning Reno and Sparks.

There could be lint build up and they can accumulate over time. This reduced the efficiency of your equipment at the same time increasing the demands for energy – which reflects on your bills. There are many hazards that can happen when your dryer vent lacks the maintenance it needs. It can increase the risk of fire.

The following are the reasons why your dryer vent needs to be cleaned:

1. It reduces the risk of a house fire

The accumulated lint imposes hazard nor just to your equipment but also to your house. Lint is a leading cause of the fire, which accounts for 28% of all dryer vent-caused fires. Within three years, 2007-2011, there was an estimated of 15,200 fires caused by dryer vent, over 200 million property damages, 460 injuries and 30 deaths within just a span of three years.

2. It is time-saving

When your dryer vent is in good condition, it just needs 50 minutes to dry your clothes, but when it is damaged due to lint accumulation, it will take them twice the time to dry your clothes.

3.Reduced energy consumption

All appliances will have an increase in energy consumption when they are not functioning efficiently or as what they are designed to. The equipment needs to work hard to compensate for the obstruction caused by the accumulation inside. Your dryer vent is not an exemption. It will need more energy to function, and this will increase energy consumption and costs

4. It extends your equipment’s life

Of course, maintenance will increase your equipment’s life. When it is over-exhausted due to the lint buildup inside it, there is a tendency that your dryer vent will get damaged, or worse, will ignite, leading to a house fire. Regular maintenance will avoid this

5.Avoids getting your clothes damaged

When your dryer vent overheats because of the lint buildup or poor maintenance, this potentially damages your clothes when you use it. Overheat can cause damage to your clothing’s fiber. Also, inefficient dryer vent due to poor maintenance also works slower. This will necessitate drying your clothes in a longer duration which also causes the fibers of the clothes to wear out faster.

Conclusion

Your dryer vent plays an important role in your house, ad this is why it deserves the cleaning and maintenance it needs. Also, proper maintenance will save you from more energy costs, more time for in drying clothes, increases chances of wear and tear of your equipment and even from the risk oh house fire.

Homemade Floor Cleaner Recipes

We all want a very clean floor surface. To achieve this, we use some commercial cleaners sold in the market or we hire some service companies like the Reno professional cleaning service. There is no danger in the latter especially when you work 8-hours a day and do not have the luxury of time to spend it on cleaning every weekend. But there is a problem when you choose to do it yourself but still end up using ineffective and harmful cleaning chemicals sold cheaply in the market.

Why not use commercial products?

Commercial products contribute to indoor pollution, which can be harmful to family members who have asthma, allergy, or another respiratory sickness. Most companies do not disclose the ingredients they use in their formula so there is no telling if whether or not they use VOCs or volatile organic compounds that can damage your body, leading to cancer.

Other products contain ingredients that have a D-F rating from the EWG or Environmental Working Group. The ingredients are the following:

Methylisothiazolinone

Preservatives

Didecyldimethylammonium chloride

Dipropylene glycol

Ammonium chlorides

Dialkyl dimethyl

Artificial fragrances

Most of these chemicals are known to induce environmental and health issues and very inorganic.

DIY FLOOR CLEANER RECIPE

What the ingredients do

  • White Vinegar – white vinegar serves as a mild disinfectant, and is effective in degreasing. It is not too acidic, and therefore safe for stone surfaces like marble and granite.

  • Liquid Dish Soap – it effectively dissolves the bond between the floor and the dirt, and is also effective in cleaning and degreasing like the vinegar. Do not use some that may have antibacterial ingredients, oxygen bleach, or those which have moisturizers.

  • Essential Oils – if you have children that have a sensitive nose and they react to vinegar and alcohol you can opt to using essential oils available in the Amazon.

  • Rubbing Alcohol – is effective in disinfecting and degreasing. Its one unique quality is that it speeds up evaporation to prevent streaks.

Ingredients:

  • 5-10 drops essential oils (optional)
  • 1/4 cup isopropyl (70%) rubbing alcohol
  • 1/2 cup distilled white vinegar
  • 1/8 tsp liquid dish soap (See notes)
  • 2 cups warm water

Instructions:

When using a bucket

The scale and the size of the ingredients in your formula depend on the size of your bucket. A one gallon-sized bucket can hold up to 128 ounces.

When using a spray bottle

Add all the ingredients mentioned above and gently swirl to mix the ingredients. Spray before wiping with a mop. This is best used for touch-up mopping.

You do not need to rinse the floor after you put the formula, and let the surface dry before touching or walking on them. Make sure to practice proper storage of the mixture you made after the cleaning session.

Conclusion

While commercial cleaning mixtures and solutions may be a bit effective in removing the stains on your floor, they can also be harmful to anyone in the family. To avoid unnecessary harm, it is best to choose natural ingredients for cleaning. This way, you have a safe cleaning solution at a very cheap price.

Weddings are usually fast-paced that happens in a long duration. This, to help you survive all throughout the wedding event, we will be listing in this article the important wedding photography tools, which can result in smoother wedding coverage for all of your wedding photographers. These essentials are not related to gears. Rather, they are the things you haven’t probably considered before but will significantly change your photography game during long-hours of wedding coverage.

Bring durable and comfortable shoes

To bring with you durable and comfortable shoes is just as essential as having your favorite lens with you. Shoes can prevent you from tripping or falling. Aside from that, they can keep your feet from being hurt after many hours on the job. The ideal shoes to consider are those with thick soles since they can endure several hours while wearing it. Also, your shoes must be comfortable to wear. Refrain from using dress shoes and flats since they cannot endure long hours of use and they are not really durable. Aside from that, they do not provide actual supper for you as photographers in the wedding’s main event.

Employ an assistant

Once you have enough budget, it would be best to hire an assistant. An assistant should not be confused with the second shooter who assists the main photographer to cover a wedding. In fact, assistants are there to aid the main photographers to carry their gears and things and serve as an additional helping hand. They could be assigned for lining up the family, keeping the photographer on track with the timeline, assisting to bluff out the dress of the bride, battery changing, lens changing, and the equipment.

Bring some snacks

For both short and long wedding days, snacks are important to nourish yourselves throughout the wedding. Wedding surely takes out plenty of your energy both physically and mentally with the customer service, directing, photographing, styling, posing, and being the head of your team. With all those stressors and responsibilities, it would be best to get some light and easy snacks with you.

Have a hand towel

Since weddings are undeniably long, they usually have plenty of suns. Meaning, while your clients are placed under the shade, you might end yourself taking pictures under the extreme sunlight. Hand towels can help your sweat off your camera and your face on those extremely hot summer days. Doing this can prevent you from the need to ask the venue or guests for something to wipe your sweat off with and it helps you to look fresh all the time.

Bring styling items like command hooks

Command hooks are extremely flexible and having some of them with you can actually help you in terms of styling particular wedding details. Such hooks are available in various finishes and styles, and it is great to stock some s you won’t run out of them during the wedding day.
